EMILY BRIMLOW Drops Soulful Indie Track ‘Misfits’ — Gig Goer

The relatively new Canadian singer-songwriter has released the whimsical love song Misfits.

Emily Brimlow is living the ultimate indie pop travel life. Growing up with musician parents and finding her creativity early on, she is now living in a van with her life partner Nathan and writing catchy autobiographical tunes along the California coast.

Misfits is one of those tunes. It describes her earliest memories of her relationship with Nathan and how they unabashedly rushed into it, marrying after just a few months. Or as she describes it: “didn’t use the brakes, didn’t know was patience meant.” With her beachy delivery, perfectly placed background vocals and almost lo-fi instrumental sound, Brimlow perfectly captures the feeling of falling in love with someone who seems too compatible to be true.

Indie pop has found another skilled sonic storyteller.
