About CHILD

The artist-collaborative known as CHILD, born in L.A and performed behind a single voice, creates a landscape of hazy, midnight dreams attempting to uncover just those parts of the self that have been forgotten but we all long to return to. A shot of cold night air within charting musical trends, CHILD marries a gritty form of pop with elements of Hip Hop, Alternative, and Indie successfully creating a fresh hyper-breed of pop music genre—informally known as Experimental Pop. One gets satisfyingly lost as the lyrics and melodies provide some familiar guideposts throughout, but often lead to bold and provoking new territory with no obvious trail back. This discomforting lostness is exactly the territory CHILD wants to us discover. These songs prick at the listener as familiarity and friction churn, finally exploding in an insatiable desire to relent and surrender to the places we avoid within ourselves, places which desperately crave realization and release. It is a tantalizing taste of what is to come from the universe of CHILD.
