Sage Ray – Goodbye Stage — Indie is Not a Genre

Sage Ray is an electro-pop artist based out of Huntington Beach, California who launched his music career in 2017 after finishing high school. His latest single Goodbye Stage is about a recent break up with the girl he thought he wanted to marry. He comments on the track:

I was dating this girl for five months and I thought I wanted to marry her. While taking a break in our relationship, I had a moment of clarity that we for sure weren’t supposed to be together. When I returned home to Huntington Beach after quarantining with my family in North Carolina, there was a 10-page letter that she’d written, waiting for me. I didn’t feel compelled to respond in that moment. Over time, the only thing that felt appropriate was to take a literal dream I’d had about our relationship and turn it into this song.
